Damar Hamlin

Damar Hamlin issued a surprising and incredible update on his condition Saturday night.

The Buffalo Bills safety, who has made a miraculous recovery since suffering a cardiac arrest during the Monday Night Football game on January 2, posted the message to his Instagram and Twitter accounts.

“I’m so thankful to everybody, I know that it isn’t enough just to be thankful,” Hamlin said. “This is just the beginning of the impact that I wanted to have on the world. And with God’s guidance, I will continue to do wonderful and great things.”

“I couldn’t do this without any of the support and the love and I can’t wait to continue to take you all on this journey with me.”

Hamlin looked healthy and sounded optimistic in the video. He also explained why he has waited to speak publicly.

“I think it was important for me to wait to speak publicly, as it was just a lot to process,” Hamlin said. “Mentally, physically, spiritually, it’s just been a lot to process.”

Although Hamlin attended the Bills playoff loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Jan. 22, he did not address the media. He also wore a hoodie and video of him cheering from a stadium suite were obscured by snow. Those factors led to many wild, ridiculous conspiracy theories about his condition that don’t bear repeating.

These videos seem to put to rest all those nasty rumors. The NFL world cheered Hamlin’s surprise video and healthy appearance.
