Last year, Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin was the subject of one of the biggest stories of the year when he went into cardiac arrest on the field during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals and needed life-saving CPR. Not only did he recover from the scary scenario, but he has been cleared to return to the field. However, it sounds like that return will have to wait at least another week.

Damar Hamlin was a healthy scratch for last week’s season-opening game against the New York Jets on Monday night, and according to the NFL Network, that will be the case once again this week when the team takes on the Las Vegas Raiders.

“Per @StaceyDales, Damar Hamlin once again is inactive with that deep #Bills secondary,” league insider Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network said in a tweet on Sunday.

This is obviously brutal news for Hamlin as his storybook return to the NFL has been delayed yet another week, and the NFL world had plenty to say about it on social media as a result.

Hamlin will almost certainly get the chance to make his return to the NFL at some point this season, but it won’t be this week.
