Last year, Buffalo Bills defensive back Damar Hamlin became the subject of the biggest story in the NFL when he went into cardiac arrest during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals and needed life-saving CPR. It was a life-threatening situation, but not only has Hamlin recovered, but he’s set to play his first NFL regular season game since the incident.

Damar Hamlin was inactive for the first three Buffalo Bills games of the season due to the team’s talent at the defensive back positions, but it looks like Hamlin will make his season debut for the team during this week’s game against the Miami Dolphins as he is listed in the team’s active roster.

The move comes after Buffalo Bills safety Jordan Poyer was ruled out of Sunday afternoon’s game with a knee injury. Hamlin will take his place on the active roster, making his first regular-season appearance since the horrifying injury last year.

It’s a big announcement, and the NFL world had plenty to say about it on social media as a result.

Hamlin will have his work cut out for him on Sunday going against a Dolphins team that put up 70 points and over 700 yards of total offense last week.
