Over the past several days, Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin has been mostly sedated as he recovered from a traumatic incident that left him in dire need of CPR on the field during Monday night’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals. It’s been a very serious situation since as doctors fought to save his life. And now with Hamlin making a “remarkable improvement,” he’s got some questions.

During a press conference on Thursday afternoon, one of the doctors treating Damar Hamlin revealed that the Bills safety wrote out one very important question when he gained consciousness.

“We were in the situation where we wanted to allow him to gradually wake up while the rest of his body was healing. And last night he was able to emerge and follow commands. And he even asked who had won the game,” the doctor said during the press conference.

The doctor clarified that he didn’t audibly ask who had won the game but wrote out the question. The doctors had a pretty simple answer to his question.

“Damar, you won. You won life.”

Obviously, there was no winner in the game as the NFL made the decision to postpone the contest indefinitely, and it’s looking like the game will not be finished.

While the doctors have made it clear that Hamlin does still have a long road ahead, it’s good to finally be able to smile a little bit about this situation.
