Neither Dan Patrick nor Aaron Rodgers has ever been shy about sharing their opinions.
During his weekly appearance on The Pat McAfee Show Tuesday, Rodgers seemed uncertain about what lies ahead but admitted that he’s not “mentally or physically” ready to make any rash decisions on his future.
“When you have played for so long, it is never about jumping right into the next season,” said Rodgers via The Pat McAfee Show on Twitter. “We had all the conversations that we wanted to have about football for now. They weren’t pressing for a specific answer, and I’m not mentally or emotionally at the point to give an answer.”
On Wednesday, Patrick responded on his show to the comments the Green Bay Packers quarterback made regarding his future, even making Rodgers a suggestion in the process.
“Do it one more year,” Patrick said via The Dan Patrick Show on Twitter. “Give it a shot. Retire a Green Bay Packer. And then maybe Jordan Love takes over after. But give it another go if you want to play football. Give it another go.”
Rodgers, 39, is coming off a frustrating season, in which he dealt with multiple injuries and fell just short of making another playoff run. As he mulls his future, whether it’s with the Packers or elsewhere in the NFL, there are those like Patrick who believe that the future Hall of Famer should run it back with Green Bay one more time.
