The Washington Commanders entered this season expecting to make a legitimate Super Bowl run after Jayden Daniels led the team to the NFC Championship last year in his rookie season. However, this season has not gone according to plan.
Washington has dealt with significant injuries to key players, including Daniels, who recently suffered a brutal elbow injury. As frustrating as things have been on offense for Washington, their defense has also left a lot to be desired.
Now, the team is making a major change, as head coach Dan Quinn has decided to relieve the defensive coordinator Joe Whitt Jr. of playcalling duties and assume the mantle.
“Dan Quinn said he’s taking over as defensive coordinator,” reported ESPN’s Nicki Jhabvala on Monday.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“He should be like Mike Tomlin, run the defense but never say out loud that you do so you always have the DC to hang blame on,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“no matter who driving the car, it’s still aint going nowhere. engine old and broken,” someone else added.
“If you want it done right, do it yourself, I guess,” one fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see if the change pays dividends for the Commanders over the second half of the season.
