Washington Commanders team owner Dan Snyder is being investigated by a U.S. House Oversight Committee for quite a while over allegations of sexual harassment, misogyny, and financial fraud. After hiding from the allegations on his private yacht in Europe, Snyder finally agreed to testify earlier this year. And now, with his back up against the wall, it looks like he’s threatening the entire NFL.

According to a long-form report from NFL reporters Don Van Natta Jr., Seth Wickersham and Tisha Thompson of ESPN, Snyder claims to have gathered enough dirt on NFL owners and commissioner Roger Goodell that he would “blow up” the league if he thought he might lose the right to own his current franchise, with ESPN reporting that Snyder “will not lose his beloved franchise without a fight that would end with multiple casualties.”

“The NFL is a mafia,” Snyder recently told an associate, according to the NFL. “All the owners hate each other.”

“That’s not true,” one veteran owner told ESPN in response. “All the owners hate Dan.”

They’re shocking comments all around, and the NFL had plenty to say about it on Thursday morning after the article’s release.

One way or another, it looks like this whole situation is going to get pretty messy. And that has already started.
