Aaron Rodgers has always been considered somewhat difficult to work with throughout his NFL career. But according to his former girlfriend, Danica Patrick, dating the man was something that mentally “wore her down”.
Patrick, who is of course best known for her NASCAR racing career, recently appeared on The Sage Steele Show to discuss a number of topics. But perhaps the biggest was her past relationship with Rodgers, which came to an end in 2020.
According to Patrick, she and Rodgers were in an “emotionally abusive” relationship that was the most painful experience of her life.
“The breakup with Aaron in 2020, because it was sudden,” said Patrick, referring to her most “painful” experience. “It felt like it was my life. So when you live with somebody, it’s your whole life… And because the nature of the relationship was emotionally abusive, so that wore me down to nothing.”
“Someone that you know, people could never imagine that I would lack any confidence, or belief in the simple things about who I am. Everything was torn to bits. He leaves a trail of blood. I don’t think I’m saying too much earth-shattering stuff after we — there’s been enough out there. But it gave me the greatest gift, which is myself. It gave me the greatest gift of how much I needed to show up for myself and take care of myself.”
There are, of course, two sides to every story. But clearly, by the sounds of things, the relationship wasn’t exactly a healthy one for either person involved.
Rodgers hasn’t had a difficult time moving on, dating actress Shailene Woodley briefly before breaking up with her in April of 2022. Currently, he is dating a woman named Brittani, who he appears to be at least engaged to, as he was seen wearing what seems to be a wedding band recently.
