After four seasons with the New York Giants, star quarterback Daniel Jones is set to become a free agent in March. And as he prepares to attempt to work out a long-term deal with the Giants, it looks like he’s making a major change in his agency.

According to a report from Jordan Ranaan of ESPN, Daniel Jones is getting a new agent that he is planning to use to help him negotiate a long-term deal with the Giants, switching from CAA to Athletes First.

“Jones has been represented by CAA since being the sixth overall draft pick out of Duke in 2019. The expectation, according to the sources, is that he will join Athletes First in search of a long-term deal,” Raanan wrote at ESPN.

While the Giants will likely use the franchise tag on Jones to keep him in New York next season even if the two sides don’t come to a long-term deal this offseason, it’s clear that both sides will be looking to work out the long-term extension. And it sounds like he’s going to get quite a pay raise.

“The expectation prior to the agent switch was that a long-term deal with Jones would come in at more than $35 million per season, according to sources. That would currently put him inside the top 10 paid players at the position,” Raanan wrote at ESPN.

We’ll have to see how this all works out.
