Jacksonville Jaguars rookie and reigning Heisman Trophy Winner Travis Hunter has the chance to do something in the NFL that has never been done before. In college, Hunter starred on both sides of the ball as one of the best cornerbacks and wide receivers in the country.

Hunter has expressed his desire to dominate both sides on a play-to-play basis as a professional as well, and the Jaguars seem inclined to see if their young star can handle the workload.

However, one of the Hunter’s new colleagues and one of the league’s premier receivers doesn’t think it’s viable for Hunter to play both ways.

“I don’t even think it’s possible to do, for real. Not at a high level. That’s just a lot of mileage, man. I’m not even concerned so much if he can do it over the course of a game or a season,” Los Angeles Rams receiver Davante Adams said.

“It’s more like, how long is his career going to be if he’s playing that many snaps? All you’re doing is doubling your risk for injury, one, and I don’t wish any of that on him. I hope that he can play an injury-free season and go ball out. But it’s just the reality. The more you’re on the field. It’s already a 100% injury guarantee.”

Fans reacted to Adams’ take on social media.

“Agree with him, seems like a good way to cut your career shorter than it needs to be,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“No hate at all just actual facts and honesty,” another fan added.

“They will likely only play him at CB if there’s injuries, like a Troy Brown Patriots situation. He’s a WR right now,” someone else added.

It’ll be interesting to see if Adams’ words prove true.
