After the Arizona Cardinals released him from their roster last month, veteran wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is without a doubt the most high-profile big-name free agent on the market right now. There will certainly be plenty of teams interested in bringing in the veteran receiver, but it sounds like the Jacksonville Jaguars will not be one of them.

During his press conference on Monday morning, Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson was asked about the possibility of the team signing DeAndre Hopkins. And Pederson shut down that talk pretty clearly and bluntly.

“At this time, it’s not a reality to bring someone else in,” Pederson said, according to Jacksonville Jaguars reporter Mia O’Brien.

Pederson made it clear that he is happy with the team’s current crop of wide receivers, which includes Christian Kirk and Zay Jones – who were the team’s top two receivers last season – as well as Calvin Ridley, who had established himself as one of the top receivers in the league before missing all of last season due to a violation of the league’s gambling policy.

Hopkins will undoubtedly find a new team before the start of the 2023 NFL season, but it’s clear that it will not be with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
