While Deion Sanders continues to say he won’t return to the NFL in any capacity — including as a head coach — he’s still seeking advice on his current situation.
The Hall of Famer-turned-head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes recently launched a new show, We Got Time Today, in which his first guest, Ice Cube, was asked what he would do if he were in Sanders’ position—not just coaching but with his son, quarterback Shedeur Sanders, emerging as a top prospect for the upcoming NFL Draft.
“I’d help him get to the next level any way I can,” Cube said.

Sanders agreed with Cube’s sentiment, saying he would step in privately if necessary.
However, he also clarified that he’s not a “helicopter parent.”
As for whether he could be the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys next season, Sanders repeatedly reaffirmed that he’s happy where he is.
But Ice Cube isn’t on board with Sanders donning Cowboys colors. As a diehard Raiders fan, Cube had his own vision for Sanders.
“Why not?” Ice Cube said. “And, if it’s in a Raiders uniform … come on baby … That would be a dream come true as a fan. I’m proud of you, bro. With all the critics, and what they don’t see that I know [what] you’re doing is making great human beings. Great men.”
Ice Cube has never been one to shy away from forming an opinion and never to say “no” to a new creative project. Last July, he talked about his friend Prime Time and wanted to put together a movie based on him.
“I mean, Deion Sanders is actually my friend, so I would probably wanna do a movie on Deion before Bo,” Ice Cube told CBS Sports’ Cody Benjamin. “And both of them (referring to Bo Jackson) were amazing athletes, but Deion, he’s played in a World Series and a Super Bowl, so I think the movie should go to him (first).”
