DeMarcus Ware sick

If you won the Super Bowl, what would you do? Most people would say, based on instinct, “I’m going to Disney World!”, and you wouldn’t be begrudged for it. DeMarcus Ware and Demaryius Thomas decided to skip out on Orlando and instead headed to South Africa for a post Super Bowl vacation.

They learned about the lingering impact of apartheid on the country about 25 years after Nelson Mandela was released from prison, and they told that story to MMQB. But the most entertaining part of their re-telling of their South African expedition was when they went fishing. Since paraphrasing them does no good, here’s the story in their words:

WARE: I said to Demaryius, ‘I’m about to give it up!’ I run over to the side of the boat and throw up. I come back to the middle of the boat and I look at Demaryius and I’m just watching him like, he’s going to throw up any minute. And then all of a sudden he looks at me and he’s like, ‘OH!’ And he takes off and goes on the side of the boat.

THOMAS: D Ware caught one fish and then it was my turn, but I made him catch the second one because by that point, I was like, ‘No bro, I’m good.’ I was just sitting there holding my stomach. We sat out there for like three or four hours. At one point I had a bucket because every 20 minutes I was going again. I was so shaky once I came back, and I was like, man I’m not going out on the water again for a long time. I ain’t playing with that again.

They also cataloged these immortal moments with Instagram and the internet is a wonderful place where we can find these videos almost immediately.

Nothing more tranquil
