The Houston Texans have won playoff games in each of their first two seasons with young quarterback C.J. Stroud. The Texans are looking to make their first sustained run with Stroud, who won offensive rookie of the year in his first season in Houston.
Unfortunately, things with Stroud aren’t trending the right direction heading into his third season in the league, as he’s been dealing with a lingering injury during Houston’s OTAs, per one prominent league insider.
However, it may seem that things with Stroud have yet to warrant serious concern.
“There’s no concerns with C.J. It’s just general soreness. We’re taking extra precaution with him, but he’ll be good to go. No concerns on my end there,” Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans said, as reported NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Fans reacted to Ryans’ statement on social media.
“Texas came off that great season a couple years ago and they are just going to continue to regress each year… kind of sad,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“We heard the same story about Carr and he retired due to significant shoulder injury,” one fan added.
“It was a pec first. Then shoulder tightness. Now it’s general soreness. Watch it linger throughout the season,” someone else added.
Hopefully, Stroud is good to go by the time the season rolls around.
