It probably didn’t take long for most people watching the Denver Broncos this season to realize that it was not a legitimate playoff contender. Even after trading for nine-time Pro Bowl quarterback Russell Wilson, the team has the worst offense in the entire NFL this season, averaging just 14.9 points per game.

While many have rightfully assumed for months that the Broncos would not be taking part in this year’s NFL postseason, that became official this week as the Denver Broncos were officially mathematically eliminated from playoff contention for the 7th straight season, as Fox Sports: NFL shared on Twitter.

It’s certainly been an embarrassing season for the Broncos, and the NFL world absolutely blasted the team for missing the playoffs once again.

“Can Nathaniel Hackett be eliminated from NFL head coaching contention ever again as well right along with this?” sports bettor Ian Cameron said.

“Broncos Country, rides over,” @Jagman13 said.

Blake Booming points out that this would be a wild thing to read about back in June.

Quarterback Russell Wilson has been a big reason for the team’s struggles this season as he’s having by far the worst season of his entire football career. He’s even being outperformed and outpaced by multiple quarterbacks who have not played much this season. Reporters even began asking head coach Nathaniel Hackett if Wilson should be benched.
