Former Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr has already dove head-first into finding a new home after officially being released by the Raiders. He has visited with both the New Orleans Saints and New York Jets this month. While this may indicate that he could be nearing a decision, that may not be the case.

His brother, former NFL quarterback David Carr appeared on NFL Total Access on Monday. He revealed that he believes Derek will “take his time” and discuss more with other potential suitors before making his final decision.

“It’s gonna be a long process,” said David Carr via NFL.com. “He wants to do his due diligence and see as many places as he can to get a feel for what the best place for him will be.”

David Carr also discussed his brother’s most recent visit with the New York Jets. He added that he “hit it off” with head coach Robert Saleh.

“Derek had a great trip. He went there to get a feel for how they work from the top down.”

While the Jets and Saints may be the early favorites to land Derek Carr, there are certainly a number of other potential landing spots that will likely be open to him.

Tampa Bay may be in the market for a replacement for the recently retired Tom Brady. Many expect Indianapolis to draft a quarterback in the upcoming NFL Draft. However, they may want to have whoever they draft sit behind a veteran like Carr for a year.

It’s clear despite his rocky ending in Las Vegas, suitors will pursue Derek Carr hard this off-season.
