On Saturday morning the NFL world was hit with quite a shocking storyline when a report surfaced that claimed Tennessee Titans star running back Derrick Henry was on the verge of being traded to the Philadelphia Eagles. But according to a few other reports, that trade won’t be happening, after all.

Akbar Gbajabiamila, a former NFL player with ties to the agency that represents Derrick Henry, sent a tweet declaring that Henry would be heading to Philadelphia.

“BREAKING: Move out the way, Derrick Henry is headed to The Eagles,” Gbajabiamila said in a tweet.

But Eagles fans probably shouldn’t get too excited.

Shortly after Gbajabiamila’s report surfaced, multiple outlets claimed that the trade won’t be happening.

“The Titans and Eagles have had zero conversations about a trade for the running back who’s heading into his eighth season, his last under contract with Tennessee,” Titans insider Paul Kuharsky wrote on Saturday.

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk also denied the report, saying “Per a source with knowledge of the situation, it won’t be happening.”

Nobody seems too sure what to believe, but the whole story certainly caught the attention of the NFL world.

We’ll have to see how it plays out. But either way, the report certainly led to some off-season entertainment.
