Earlier this week, longtime NFL wide receiver DeSean Jackson made a cryptic post on his Instagram account that many interpreted as a retirement announcement. But apparently, that is not the case and Jackson is not ready to hang it up.
Over the weekend, DeSean Jackson posted a message to his Instagram account that read “Did it my way 15 years strong!! Neva anotha like it!” As a result, many assumed it was Jackson announcing his retirement from the league. But Jackson made a follow-up post on Tuesday making it clear that he wasn’t walking away from the league just yet.
“They reaching my last post wasn’t a retirement post! I just had to get some stuff off my chest! Y’all will know when the Boi retire!” Jackson wrote on Instagram.
Even at age 36, Jackson proved that he is still capable of success in the league, hauling in nine catches for 153 yards in seven games with the Baltimore Ravens last season.
It will be interesting to see whether or not Jackson does indeed suit up next season. If he does return to the field in 2023, it remains unclear who he will be playing for as he is currently an unrestricted free agent.
