When the Detroit Lions drafted Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver Jameson Williams in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, they likely expected that he would be an electric playmaker that would help their offense for years to come. But unfortunately, they’ve had a hard time keeping him on the field.

Jameson Williams missed the majority of last season as he rehabbed a knee injury he suffered during his final season of college football and now he’s going to miss the first six games of his second season in the league after he was suspended for violating the league’s gambling policy.

It’s certainly been a rough start to his young career, and one particularly brutal stat highlights just how rocky his career has gone.

“Jameson Williams has the same amount of suspensions (1) as he does receptions in his career,” Sleeper said in a tweet on Sunday evening.

Obviously, this is not great for Williams, but it’s also pretty brutal for the Lions since they haven’t gotten any production out of their first-round pick from last season.

The NFL world had plenty to say about the situation on Twitter.

We’ll have to see how Williams and the Lions can rebound from this brutal start to his career.
