The Miami Dolphins are Tua Tagovailoa’s team.
Despite rampant speculation that Miami is looking to add a quarterback this offseason, sources tell ESPN’s Jeff Darlington the team is content with Tagovailoa.
The former Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback looked sharp when healthy in 2022, but he suffered at least two concussions, leading to concern about his health and future in the sport.
Despite those concerns, Darlington says head coach Mike McDaniel has his quarterback in Tagovailoa.
“Mike fully believes Tua is the perfect fit for his system,” a source told Darlington.
The Dolphins will not be pursuing Lamar Jackson or any other starting QBs this off-season, multiple team sources tell me. As one source said, “Mike fully believes Tua is the perfect fit for his system.”

This report should lay to rest the rumors that the Dolphins will go after Lamar Jackson, or even Aaron Rodgers. Of course, CBS Sports reported just a few days ago that the Dolphins were considering “all options” at quarterback for 2023.
Frankly, until the Dolphins pick up Tagovailoa’s fifth-year option, it’s tough to know what to believe. The team has until May 1 to make a decision on that option.
The Dolphins still need a quarterback to back up Tagovailoa, as Teddy Bridgewater is set to become a free agent.
NFL fans had mixed feelings on the Tagovailoa news.
Tua Tagovailoa and Lamar Jackson are both top-ten quarterbacks. Tua is the guy for Miami. I was terrified Stephen Ross wouldn’t be able to help himself but am happy he is staying out of it. Kudos to Mike McDaniel for continuing to support Tua.

Welp here’s to 10 games of Tua for the next 10 years

I feel like retirement is a real thing for Tua. He has to consider it with all that happened last year and how many games he missed due to being concussed

The Giants just paid Daniel Jones $40 million a year and the Dolphins still haven’t given Tua Tagovailoa his 5th year option at $23 million. What are they waiting for?
