Taylor Swift and Donald Trump do not exactly have a cordial relationship. The pop sensation has repeatedly spoken out against him and publicly supported his political opponents in elections, and Trump has responded by making some rather rude comments about her. But that did not stop Trump and his team from using her music in a recent viral video.
In a post on the White House official TikTok account this week, the Trump administration used Swift’s new hit song “The Fate of Ophelia” to create a pro-Trump video, praising many aspects of his presidency.
The video uses the lyrics of Swift’s song while showing imagery from Trump’s presidency.
“Keep it one hundred on the land (Land), thе sea (Sea), the sky,” the lyrics said as images of the Army, Navy, and Air Force showed in the video.
“Pledge allegiance to your hands, your team, your vibes,” the lyrics said as it showed photos of Trump, Vance and his staff.
“Don’t care where the hell you’ve been (Been) ’cause now (Now) you’re mine,” the lyrics said as the video showed Trump’s mugshot, followed by him kissing the flag.
“It’s ’bout to be the sleepless night you’ve been dreaming of,” the lyrics said as the video showed fireworks over Washington, D.C.
For the final shot, the video changed the lyrics from “the fate of Ophelia” to “the fate of America.”
Needless to say, this is a pretty stunning video from Trump after all the horrible things he has said about Taylor Swift and the lies that he spread using her image during his campaign.
Given Swift’s vocal opposition to Trump over the years, it’s unlikely that she will be too happy about him using her song in a video like this.
