Latin megastar Bad Bunny is set to perform at halftime of Super Bowl LX next month, but United States President Donald Trump clearly does not approve.
In a recent interview with the New York Post, Trump confirmed he won’t be attending next month’s Super Bowl LX in San Francisco. He also made it clear that he does not approve of Bad Bunny and Green Day, who are scheduled to perform at the game.
Bad Bunny, who is the most-streamed male artist in the world, will perform the halftime show, while Green Day is set to perform during the opening ceremony.
Both Bad Bunny and Green Day have publicly criticized Trump in the past. And leading up to the game, Trump called it a “terrible choice” to allow them to perform at the Super Bowl.
“I’m anti-them. I think it’s a terrible choice. All it does is sow hatred. Terrible,” Trump told the New York Post.
Trump is certainly not the only one who has pushed back against the performers. Bad Bunny’s selection, in particular, has led to a lot of pushback, though he has laughed off the criticism. Jay-Z, who has co-produced the halftime show since 2019, has defended the choice.
Though he doesn’t approve of the performers, Trump insists that they aren’t the reason he’s skipping the game. Instead, he says the game is simply too far away.
“It’s just too far away. I would. I’ve [gotten] great hands [at] the Super Bowl. They like me,” Trump said. “I would go if, you know, it was a little bit shorter.”
However, it’s pretty clear that he will not be watching the halftime show from home.
