The Peyton Manning retirement watch will continue for at least one more week, according to NFL Network reporter Jim Palmer.
I'm told not to expect a decision from Peyton Manning on his retirement this week. He will meet with both Elway and Kubiak this week.

This latest news comes after the Denver Post’s Woody Paige, citing two anonymous sources, reported that Manning would announce his retirement by the end of this week. However, Palmer’s tweet obviously contradicts that report, as Manning will be meeting with general manager John Elway and head coach Gary Kubiak ahead of any decision.
Regardless of Manning’s willingness to play another year, there is a good chance the Broncos will have someone other than the former MVP under center next season. Manning turns 40 on March 24 and would be owed $19 million for the 2016-17 season, an amount Denver definitely is leery of spending.
Next Tuesday, March 8, is the deadline for the two parties to reach a resolution. If Manning is on the roster at the end of the business day, then his salary would be fully guaranteed for next season. If he takes any longer making his decision, he could be released by the Super Bowl champs in order to continue evaluating his future playing options.
There are rumblings Manning could end up playing in Los Angeles for the Rams — another team with a stout defense and a heavy reliance on its running game.
Now starting for the LA Rams…

There are also rumors the Rams are interested in Robert Griffin III, so Manning might not be the first choice to lead the NFL’s conquest of Los Angeles. However, it seems ludicrous that no NFL team could make room for Manning to start if the quarterback really wanted to. If Manning ever makes up his mind about his employment next year, he will almost certainly have a roster spot waiting — just not necessarily with the Broncos.
