It was anything but a storybook follow-up for the Eagles after completely dismantling the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX. It just goes to show what a difference expectations make when Philly’s season has been deemed an abject failure despite winning the NFC East for the second consecutive year.
The fact of the matter is the Eagles never really clicked this season, whether it was star running back Saquon Barkley’s dip in production, reigning Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurt’s inability to throw over the middle of the field, or star wide receiver A.J. Brown’s public displeasure with his role in the offense, that side of the ball was lightyears away from what it looked like a season ago.
As a result, in a move that didn’t come as much of a surprise, offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo was relieved of his duties as the play caller earlier this week. On Thursday, head coach Nick Sirianni spoke with reporters about the decision in a press conference.

Fan reacted to Siranni’s words on social media.
“Standard coach speak, but the message is clear. They’re not standing still. Sirianni knows the offense has to evolve, and this hire will be about fit and adaptability, not just play calling reputation, ” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Translation: Howie said if I don’t, I’ll be fired. My best friend Kevin was never qualified for the job,” someone else added.
“If Eagles really wanted a dynasty, they should fire this clown before he wastes more of the premium years. The void year trick will be catching up to them soon,” another fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see who Philadelphia brings in to replace Patullo.
