The Dallas Cowboys were in need of a new running back after parting ways with Tony Pollard this offseason. But instead of bringing in someone new, it sounds like the team is instead bringing back a very familiar face: Ezekiel Elliott.
According to a report from Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, Ezekiel Elliott will be returning to the Dallas Cowboys this season after spending one season with the New England Patriots.
“He’s back: The #Cowboys have agreed to terms with their former star RB Ezekiel Elliott, per me and @TomPelissero, as the ex-rushing champ now gives Dallas a proven weapon in the backfield. The two sides met in person on Wednesday, and pending physical, it’s happening,” Rapoport said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Elliott spent his first seven seasons with the Cowboys before leaving the team last offseason. During those seven seasons, Elliott made the Pro Bowl three times and led the entire league in rushing twice.
Obviously, Elliott has not had that same sort of production later in his career, but it will still be interesting to see what he is able to bring to the Cowboys this season.
