As the Atlanta Falcons continue to make moves to improve a team that finished at the bottom of the NFC South last season, the organization made news on Tuesday. They added another weapon for their likely future quarterback, whether that’s Desmond Ridder, Taylor Heinckie or a rookie under center. According to multiple reports, the Falcons are adding a Super Bowl-winning wide receiver
Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers wideout Scotty Miller is signing a one-year deal with the Falcons and staying in the NFC South. Falcons general manager Terry Fontenot confirmed Miller’s addition on Tuesday, according to D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
“It’s exciting to add him to the mix,” #Falcons GM Terry Fontenot said of Scotty Miller. “He’s quick. He’s athletic. He can run. He’s shown the ability to make plays. That came together pretty quick and we’re excited to add him to the mix.” https://t.co/JGTyXjonUd

Miller figures to slide in as Atlanta’s starting slot wide receiver, opposite Drake London and Mack Hollins. The Falcons are surely familiar with Miller, who made a name for himself with the Buccaneers. The former sixth-round pick out of Bowling Green played an integral part in Tampa Bay’s 2020 Super Bowl run, as he hauled in 33 receptions for 501 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns in 16 games. He also had a key 39-yard touchdown reception in Tampa Bay’s NFC Championship Game victory over the Green Bay Packers.
Miller hasn’t been as effective the past two seasons, recording just 28 receptions for 223 yards with zero touchdown receptions in 24 games (one start). He’ll look to recapture the success he had in 2020 with Atlanta.
