Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Los Angeles Chargers receiver Vincent Jackson was found dead in a Tampa-area hotel room on Monday, per the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. Jackson was 38.

In their statement, the office notes that “no apparent signs of trauma” were found, and that Jackson had checked into the hotel on January 11th. His family reported him missing on February 11th, and he was found at the hotel a day later.

The Chargers and Bucs both released statements about Jackson’s passing on Twitter.

In his 12 year NFL career, Jackson’s first seven seasons were spent in San Diego with the Chargers, with his final five coming with the Bucs. He was a three-time Pro Bowler, and tallied at least 1,000 yards receiving in six of his 12 seasons in the NFL. More importantly, Jackson made a huge impact off the field, and was a four time winner of the Bucs’ Man of the Year award. He also created a foundation, Jackson In Action 83, dedicated to supporting military families.
