Former Dallas Cowboys and Alabama Crimson Tide linebacker Rolando McClain was arrested again this week for drug possession and gun charges.
According to a report from Birmingham ABC affiliate anchor Stephen Quinn, McClain, 33, was pulled over on Highway 157 in Moulton, AL for speeding. When an officer approached the car, police say the officer could smell marijuana coming from McClain’s vehicle. Police say that gave them probable cause to search the car.

McClain then told officials he had a gun in his car too. McCain was not licensed to carry a concealed weapon in his car.
That led to McClain’s sixth arrest since 2011. He was charged with second-degree possession of marijuana, speeding, and possession of a concealed weapon without a permit.
McClain was an All-American twice out of Alabama. He was the first-round draft choice of the Oakland Raiders back in 2010, but only lasted 2 years with them before moving on to the Baltimore Ravens and finally his last stop, the Dallas Cowboys. He last played for the Cowboys in 2015, but was only officially released by them in 2019, with that release coming after the NFL from an indefinite suspension over substance abuse that began in 2016.
McClain has admitted over the years that he has a substance abuse problem. And this latest arrest may land him in jail for a longer period of time.
