When the New York Giants take the field on Monday night, they’re primed to do so without one of their key contributors. Former first-round pick Andrew Thomas will miss the Giants’ matchup with the Seattle Seahawks, according to head coach Brian Daboll.
Giants reporter Art Stapleton reported the news on Thomas’ looming absence. “Andrew Thomas is OUT for Monday, per Daboll,” Stapleton posted.

It’s a tough break for the 1-2 Giants, who face a steep climb without their top offensive tackle. The Giants lost 40-0 in Week 1 to Dallas and then fell on the road on Thursday Night Football against the San Francisco 49ers. Their lone win came in come-from-behind fashion against the Arizona Cardinals.
The Seahawks have picked up five sacks as a team thus far this season. Defensive end Jarran Reed leads with 2.0 sacks, while Boye Mafe, Dre’Mont Jones, and Tre Brown each have one. Pressure will likely be ramped up significantly against the Giants with their top tackle gone.
New York took Thomas with the fourth overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Thus far, the former Georgia Bulldogs standout has performed quite well. He hasn’t been recognized with a Pro Bowl or All-Pro nod yet like his peers in the Top 5 – Joe Burrow, Chase Young, and Tua Tagovailoa have all made it – but don’t let that fool you. The Giants will miss Thomas in the lineup on Monday night.
