The New York Giants have made some significant moves this offseason. New York signed Daniel Jones to a massive extension, franchise-tagged Pro Bowler Saquon Barkley, and acquired Pro Bowler Darren Waller in a blockbuster trade. Now the team is reportedly interested in a Super Bowl Champion.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Giants are rumored to have interest in former Los Angeles Rams defensive lineman A’Shawn Robinson. Robinson, who won Super Bowl LVI with the Rams, remains one of the top available players on the market and will visit the Giants on Monday according to Rapoport.

“#Rams DL A’Shawn Robinson, one of the top free agents available, is scheduled to visit the #Giants on Monday,” Rapoport tweeted.

The Giants’ defensive line is one of the team’s biggest strengths. They feature Kayvon Thibodeaux, Azeez Ojulari, Dexter Lawrence, and Leonard Williams, among others. Adding a player of Robinson’s caliber would give the team significantly more depth at the position and more skill.

A’Shawn Robinson is a former second-round pick. The Detroit Lions drafted Robinson after he starred at the University of Alabama. Robinson won a College Football Playoff Championship with the Crimson Tide back in 2016 and was a Consensus All-American in 2015.

To this point, he’s totaled 293 tackles, 181 solo, and seven career sacks in 93 career games.
