The New York Giants are expected to hire former Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh as their next head coach, but those negotiations seem to have hit a bit of a snag.
While Harbaugh and the Giants have been working on a deal to make him the team’s next head coach, the deal is not yet done, and it sounds like there are some hangups.
In a post on X this week, ESPN’s NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that the Giants and Harbaugh are still “working through the details” of a contract, but there are “issues” the two sides are working through.
Schefter reports that these “issues” aren’t about money, but rather the “language” of the contract.
“Giants and John Harbaugh still are working through the details of their contract, and it is not yet done, per sources,” Schefter said in a post on X.
“The final issues aren’t over money; it’s over language. ‘There’s no derailment and nothing has changed,’ one source said. Talks continue, and the two sides are working to get it across the finish line,” Schefter continued.
It’s not clear what the “language” is, but it’s clear that despite continued negotiations, the two sides have not yet come to terms on a deal that would make him the next head coach of the Giants.
We’ll have to see whether or not the two sides are able to come to an agreement at some point in the near future so he can begin putting together his team and staff.
