Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost Sunday, falling 20-18 to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Brady was outdueled by meme-turned-quarterback Mitch Trubisky, who completed 9 of 12 passing attempts for 144 yards and one touchdown in relief of Cody Pickett. But that wasn’t the only loss Brady suffered this week.

Brady and his wife, supermodel Gisele Bündchen, are currently undergoing a public divorce after 16 years of marriage. Bündchen reportedly delivered an ultimatum to Brady before the season, saying this would be his last season playing football if he wish to stay married.

Brady has apparently made his decision, as the couple was reportedly living separately even before they both hired divorce attorneys.

Bündchen took to Instagram this week and dropped a possible hint as to why she’s leaving the seven-time Super Bowl champion:

The quote, from Jay Shetty, reads: “You can’t be in a committed relationship with someone who is inconsistent with you. Read that again.”

As TMZ Sports speculated, this could be in response to Brady, who retired this past offseason to “spend more time with his family” before un-retiring a month later and rejoining the Buccaneers.

Brady is already committed to Fox Sports as a commentator after he retires. As Drew Brees warned Brady, being successful in media requires a schedule that’s similar to the NFL.

Neither Brady or Bündchen (seen above at Super Bowl LV in 2021) have commented publicly on the divorce. Brady and the Buccaneers are next in action on Oct. 23, when they travel to north to face the Carolina Panthers on the road.
