While there have been signs of dysfunction in the relationship for quite some time, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady and his supermodel wife Gisele Bündchen officially separated this month, ending their 13-year marriage in a very public way. Brady has recently opened up about how the divorce is impacting him and his children, and apparently, Gisele is doing fine as well.
Despite reports that the divorce was “very nasty” and news that Gisele had hired a famous lawyer to represent her in the divorce, it looks like the Brazilian supermodel is turning the corner after the difficult separation. According to Yahoo! Sports, the divorce was “hard at first” but she is now doing much better “as enough time has passed that she is settling in.”
“Gisele is dealing with issues that have been plaguing her for a long time,” a source told Yahoo! about the divorce.
“[Gisele] has lived her own life for years while Tom played football so she is not afraid to do things by herself.”
The one thing that Brady and Gisele can agree on is that the kids are important to their lives. And those children are keeping Gisele happy throughout the separation process.
“Gisele is great with her children and radiates happiness when either one or both are around,” the source told Yahoo!, adding that “having them with her has helped her move ahead.”
Brady has also said his focus is on his children during this divorce.
They will be with both parents and should come out of this in good shape,” a source told Yahoo!
