Herschel Walker is currently running in Georgia as a Republican for Senate against sitting Democratic senator Raphael Warnock. The election will play an outsized role in determining which party controls the pivotal chamber next year.
The only poll that ultimately matters is the one on Election Day. And another pollster might have an entirely different read on the election.
However, the latest Quinnipiac poll is all bad news for Walker.
If the election were held today, Quinnipiac has Walker trailing Warnock, 52% to 46% in votes.
The poll notes that Warnock’s lead is fueled by a double-digit lead among independent voters:
Quinnipiac poll: Georgia Senate
Raphael Warnock (D) 52%
Herschel Walker (R) 46%"Warnock's lead is fueled by a double-digit lead among independents."

Thankfully for Walker, this poll is not final. His campaign has 54 days to catch his opponent.
Still, there is no denying that the numbers are upside down for Walker, and the football world definitely took notice in reacting to the news:
I don't really believe Warnock is going to win by 6 on the day of. otoh, GA polls weren't as far off as those in the upper midwest, and the cross tabs look feasible…idk.

Walker and Warnock will hold their first debate in Savannah on October 14th.
“Someone had to put an end to Herschel Walker’s games, and today Reverend Warnock showed again why he is the best person for the job, agreeing to Walker’s preferred debate so Georgians would have at least one opportunity to see the clear choice they have in this election,” said Warnock’s campaign in a statement.
The midterm elections will be held on November 8th.
