The Houston Texans continue to deepen their roster of offensive weapons, announcing Monday that they had signed veteran tight end Darrell Daniels. No details about the deal were announced.

Daniels, who caught 47 passes for 728 yards and five touchdowns for the Washington Huskies, signed with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent in 2017, playing in 12 games as a rookie. He was traded in 2018 to the Seattle Seahawks for wide receiver Marcus Johnson where he was soon waived and re-signed to the practice squad, eventually getting waived for good in November. He was then claimed by the Arizona Cardinals and has spent the years since bouncing between their active roster and practice squad, playing in 40 NFL games for them.

Over his NFL career, Daniels has 13 catches for 122 yards and a touchdown.

The Texans waived cornerback Jimmy Moreland on Sunday in order to make room for Daniels, who will turn 28 in November. The 6-3, 256-pounder will hope to find a foothold on the roster this season and build on the success he had last season.
