The Houston Texans have struggled mightily over the past few seasons and they’ve hired new head coach DeMeco Ryans to try to turn the team around in the right direction. But even though he’s been tasked with a massive rebuild, he doesn’t feel any extra pressure.
During a press conference this week, DeMeco Ryans was asked if he feels any pressure to turn the franchise around in the right direction. But he said he doesn’t feel any added pressure, just excitement.
“No pressure for me at all,” Ryans said according to Mark Lane of USAToday.com. “This is an outstanding organization, an outstanding job. I love the excitement being around the city, just everybody stopping. Fans are excited, they want to take pictures, autographs. It’s an exciting time. I don’t feel any pressure because I know I’m surrounding myself with the right people and I know we can get the job done. I know Houston is hungry for a winner.”
The Texans have gone 11-38-1 over the last three seasons, but Ryans knows they’re capable of more and has seen it firsthand, playing linebacker with the team from 2006 to 2011, helping lead the team to the playoffs during that time.
We’ll have to see if he can help get the team back to its former glory.
