When he’s healthy, Green Bay Packers superstar Micah Parsons is one of the most dominant defensive players in the NFL. Unfortunately for the Packers, however, he has not been healthy this year, and it does not sound like he will be returning from his injury anytime soon.

Before the season started, Parsons was ruled out for the first four games of the season as soon as the Packers put him on the physically unable to perform list. Now, however, it sounds like he’s going to miss several more weeks.

Parsons Injury

Parsons suffered a torn ACL back in Week 15 of the 2025 season and has been working his way back from the injury ever since.

Heading into the 2026 season, Parsons was placed on the team’s physically unable to return list, ruling him out for the first four games of the season.

Parsons is nearly eligible to return to the active roster from his injury based on that timeline, and there has been some optimism that he could have been ready to join the team soon after he was eligible – perhaps even next week.

“We have a pretty good idea, once we get out of that four-game window, that we’re going to be pretty close. As you guys have heard me say, I’m going to be pretty cautious with that. We’ve got a big investment there. It’s really important to what we’re trying to do. To accomplish the goals we want to late in the year, he’s going to need to be at his best,” Packers General ManagerBrian Gutekunst said back on Sept. 1, via Matt Schneidmann of The Athletic.

However, it does not sound like that’s going to happen.

Not Until November?

According to a report from NFL insider Tom Pelissero of The Ringer and Netflix, Parsons has not suffered any setbacks in his recovery, but he’s not ready to return and it could be until November until it is.

“Packers star Micah Parsons hasn’t had any setbacks in his rehab. But he’s not expected to practice next week, and it could be November before he’s ready for game action,” Pelissero wrote in a post on X.

Obviously, this is not ideal for the Packers, who find themselves with just a 1-2 record so far this season and at the bottom of the NFC North. The team and fans were undoubtedly hoping to get Parsons back to help save the season, but they’re going to have to wait a few more weeks.
