The Indianapolis Colts appear to have found a diamond in the rough in veteran quarterback Daniel Jones. Jones was brought in to challenge Anthony Richardson Sr. for the starting job, won it after a camp battle, and neither he nor the Colts has looked back since.
Indianapolis is 7-2, and a win over the Atlanta Falcons in Berlin on Sunday would tie them with the Denver Broncos for the best record in the NFL. However, while Indianapolis and Jones are running the best offense in the league, the defensive side of the ball has left a lot to be desired at times throughout this season.
Last weekend’s loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers showed just how bleak things can be for Indy when Jones and the offense aren’t firing on all cylinders.
Unfortunately, the Colts are going to have to lean on Jones even more, despite him coming off his worst performance of the season against Pittsburgh, as one of their defensive stars is going to be unavailable on Sunday due to a neck injury, per one prominent insider around the league.
“Colts DE DeForest Buckner (neck) will not travel with the team to Berlin and is out for Sunday’s game,” reported Ian Rapoport of NFL Network on Sunday.

Fans reacted to the brutal news on social media.
“Naturally the falcons offense will ignore this and decide to go full diddy anyway,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Buckner’s absence, following a missed Wednesday practice, compounds the Colts’ defensive woes amid other injuries like DE Samson Ebukam’s knee issue, potentially weakening their front seven against the Falcons’ struggling offense on a three-game skid,” someone else added.
“That hurts the defense more than people realize,” another fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see if Jones can lead the Colts to an international win or if this is starting to become to much to ask of him.
