The Indianapolis Colts will be without rookie starting quarterback Anthony Richardson for an extended period of time after the young star suffered a shoulder injury during the team’s win over the Tennessee Titans this week. And on Tuesday evening, the team made a move that will help them bolster the quarterback positions for as long as Richardson is out with his injury.

With Anthony Richardson out with a sprained AC joint in his throwing shoulder, the team will turn to veteran quarterback Gardner Minshew as their new starter, and behind him will be former Texas Longhorns starter Sam Ehlinger. That still left the team without a third quarterback., but the Colts solved that problem this week, by signing veteran quarterback Kellen Mond.

While Mond would only conceivably play for the team in an emergency situation, his addition still led to plenty of reactions on social media.

Kellen Mond is a former college football star with the Texas A&M Aggies who was selected in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings.

While Mond has not played much during his NFL career, he does have in-game experience, completing 2 of 3 passing attempts for just five yards in his lone appearance during the regular season, he has been in the league for two seasons, playing with the Vikings during his rookie season and the Browns last season.
