The Indianapolis Colts had a rough season this year as the team finished the year with just a 4-12-1 record, firing head coach Frank Reich and making the controversial decision to replace him with former player Jeff Saturday as the interim head coach. The team had lots of issues, but it particularly struggled at the quarterback position this year, making multiple changes at starting quarterback, none of which seemed to work. And it looks like the team is ready to make a major move to bolster that position in the upcoming NFL Draft.

Speaking to the media on Tuesday morning, Indianapolis Colts general manager Chris Ballard revealed that if the team found a quarterback it liked in the upcoming draft, it would do “whatever it takes” to move up in the draft and select him, according to Zak Keefer of The Athletic.

“Asked if there is a QB at the top of the draft they want, would he give up heaven and earth to trade up and get him? Ballard: ‘Yes. I’d do whatever it takes,'” Keefer said in a Tweet.

The Chicago Bears hold the No. 1 overall pick in the draft. So Ballard’s comments could suggest a future blockbuster deal with Bears general manager Ryan Poles. Naturally, the NFL world had plenty to say about this news.

“Ryan Poles, probably: ‘Target acquired.'” Bears insider Josh Shrock said in a tweet.

“Game on,” Alex Shapiro of NBC Sports said on Twitter.

“Ryan Poles *bookmarks*,” Brad Spielberger of Pro Football Focus said in a Tweet.

“Bring on Stroud v Young to the AFC South,” Texans writer Jordan Pun said in a tweet.

The Colts likely feel a little extra pressure to move up in the draft given that the division-rival Houston Texans will almost certainly select a quarterback with the No. 2 overall pick in the draft.
