After being selected by the Denver Broncos in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, Isaiah McKenzie had a rough rookie season. Between McKenzie’s duties as a wide receiver and kick/punt returner, he had six fumbles. That’s obviously a brutal, unacceptable rate at the NFL (that would be a lot even for a starting running back).

But the Broncos have kept McKenzie around for the 2018 camp, and in the team’s preseason game against the Minnesota Vikings on Saturday night, he showed why Denver isn’t ready to give up on his talents.

Check out this awesome 78-yard punt return from McKenzie late in the second quarter:

That was followed by a touchdown celebration, and Mckenzie’s teammate Stansly Maponga may have been a tad too aggressive with this playful shove:

The good feelings McKenzie had from the touchdown had to outweigh the pain of that hit, at least.
