With Jacksonville Jaguars star quarterback Trevor Lawrence dealing with a knee injury this week, there is at least some concern that the star quarterback will be unable to play this week against the New Orleans Saints. As a result, it sounds like the Jaguars are making some moves to bolster their depth at the quarterback position just in case.

On Wednesday afternoon, NFL insider Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network shared a report revealing that the Jacksonville Jaguars are signing veteran quarterback Nathan Rourke, who starred in the CFL, to help add depth to the quarterback position as Trevor Lawerence deals with his knee injury.

“Just mentioned on The Insiders on #NFLPlus: The #Jaguars are signing QB Nathan Rourke to the 53-man roster, per source. Some insurance with Trevor Lawrence dealing with a knee injury,” Rapoport said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

It’s a pretty important move for the Jaguars to make sure they have a contingency plan at quarterback in case Lawrence does miss this week’s game, and the NFL world had a lot to say about it on social media as a result.

The Jaguars obviously hope they won’t need this insurance, but Rourke will be there if the team needs him.
