The Jacksonville Jaguars and Trevor Lawrence are eager to prove to the rest of the league that Lawrence has what it takes to be one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL after a 2024 season where he was held back by injuries.
Jacksonville even traded up with the Cleveland Browns in the 2025 NFL draft to select Travis Hunter with the second overall pick, securing one of the most electric weapons in NFL history for Lawrence.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear as if things are quite clicking for Lawrence and the Jags at this point in training camp, per one prominent insider.
“Worst Jaguars offensive practice I’ve witnessed since Blake Bortles’ five-INT night. At least 7 dropped passes, 10 penalty flags, several sacks and sloppiness all around,” reported Mark Long on Thursday.
Fans reacted to Long’s report on social media.
“The good news is the Jags went to the AFC championship game that year,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Why all the penalties? Is it the new scheme? Taking too long at the line? Communication? The drops are infuriating. These guys make millions to catch the damn ball,” someone else wrote.
“So Trevor will have to hero ball for this offense to get wins. At least we can rely on the play calling/design to not set him up for failure,” another fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see if Lawrence and the Jags can get things cleaned up before the regular season arrives.
