It’s hard to find two more polarizing figures in the sports world than Jake Paul and Aaron Rodgers. And yet, they’re somehow connected. Well, that’s at least, according to Paul, as the 26-year-old YouTuber, turned boxer, made an insane claim regarding the Green Bay Packers star quarterback.

In a recent interview with Fox News Digital, Paul claimed that when he was with Rodgers, the two “did the ayahuasca,” which is a psychoactive tea that contains the hallucinogenic drug DMT — a powerful drug that naturally occurs in several plant species. The plant itself is not illegal in the United States; however, the active ingredient — DMT — is classified as a Schedule 1 drug.

“Aaron and I were actually together when we did the ayahuasca,” Paul said to Fox News Digital. “He’s more publicly known for speaking about it, but I was actually there with him when we did it. We spent the week there doing it. Definitely share that similarity in terms of spirituality and reflecting and going into the deepest parts of the mind. Definitely have been doing some of that.”

Rodgers has spoken about using ayahuasca in the past but has never publicly included Paul in those experiences. Though, Paul seems to indicate that there is a relationship there and is intrigued by the prospect of a darkness retreat, something Rodgers infamously participated in to make a decision on his future playing career.

“It’s funny, I was planning on doing the darkness retreat later this year,” Paul said.

For now, we’ll have to see if Rodgers confirms the veracity of Paul’s claims whenever he appears on The Pat McAfee Show.
