Heading into the 2023 NFL Draft, former Georgia Bulldogs defensive tackle Jalen Carter might be the most talented player in the entire draft pool of players. But anyone hoping to see him perform at this week’s NFL Scouting Combine will, unfortunately, be quite disappointed.

According to a report from NFL insider Adam Schefter, Jalen Carter has decided that he will not participate in drills or workouts at the upcoming combine, though he will do interviews.

“Georgia DL Jalen Carter, considered one of the top players in this year’s draft, will not participate in the workout portion of this week’s combine but will do the interviews with teams and the physical. His agents, Drew Rosenhaus and Ryan Matha, told teams that Carter will work out at his Georgia Pro Day March 15,” Schefter said in a tweet on Monday morning.

It’s a pretty huge decision for one of the top players in the entire draft, and the NFL world had plenty to say about it on Twitter as a result.

Carter has been unanimously considered one of the top picks in the upcoming draft and could even be the No. 1 overall pick, especially if the Chicago Bears decide not to trade the pick away.
