The Philadelphia Eagles are reportedly “all in” on their franchise quarterback, Jalen Hurts. And that’s good news for the fourth-year man out of Oklahoma and Alabama, as he’ll be due a nice contract extension very soon.
According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, the Eagles seem willing to do whatever it takes to ensure that Hurts sticks around for longer than just the 2023 or 2024 seasons.

“There was a lot of optimism in Arizona regarding a potential Jalen Hurts – would no doubt be a massive contract extension. Howie Roseman, the General Manager, said it could be done relatively soon which does leave the window open for any time in the next couple hours to any time in the next several months. We’ll see when it gets done,” Rapoport said on NFL Now.
Rapoport cited a conversation between owner Jeffrey Lurie and reporters, which included Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer. Lurie waxed poetic on Hurts, calling him “the most mature 24-year-old I’ve ever come across.”
The Eagles’ glowing thoughts over their star quarterback are absolutely no surprise. Jalen Hurts led the team to the No. 1 overall seed in the NFC this season and to Super Bowl LVII. While the team came up short, Hurts played like a madman in the game and has earned a new contract extension. It sounds like right now, went the time comes, he’ll stay around with The City of Brotherly Love.
