Los Angeles Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey ripped the NFL Saturday for worrying too much about things such as uniform violations and not enough about player safety.

“Player safety should be one of the most important things to talk about,” Ramsey told reporters (via ESPN). “It should probably be talked about more. And then s*** like getting fined for socks … or s*** like getting fined for tights or BS or anything like that. … That needs to not be talked about as much.

“That’s the stuff that they need to put an emphasis [on]. Not freaking, ‘Oh his socks are too high or his socks are too low’ or something like that. That’s so lame. I’m so beyond that.”

Ramsey’s comments come as the league faces criticism about player safety procedures in the wake of Tua Tagovailoa suffering head injuries last Sunday and then again Thursday. Both the NFL and the Miami Dolphins have come under fire for how his situation was handled. The NFLPA is investigating the matter.

The Rams star’s remarks about uniform violations aren’t just a random talking point — Ramsey says he’s been fined for a code violation every game this season, and he doesn’t plan to change.

“I’m going to continue to get fined because I’m going to be swaggy out there,” Ramsey said. “I’m going to wear the same thing this week too, so I’m ready for the fine. Come on with it, right?”
