Running back Jamaal Williams spent four seasons with the Green Bay Packers after he was drafted by the team in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. But after signing with the Detroit Lions last season, it’s safe to say that he made the correct decision to leave the team.

This season, Jamaal Williams has emerged as the Lions’ top running back this season, overtaking D’Andre Swift as he’s dealt with injuries. He’s been so productive this season that he’s actually outpaced his entire Green Bay Packers career in this season alone, as NFL insider Adam Schefter of ESPN points out.

“Lions’ RB Jamaal Williams now has as many rushing touchdowns this season as he did during five seasons in Green Bay,” Schefter said in a Tweet on Thursday.

Schefter was slightly incorrect because Williams played four of his first five seasons in Green Bay and one in Detroit last season. However, the stat is still the same – Jamaal Williams scored his 13th touchdown of the season on Thursday afternoon, which is as many as he scored in his first five seasons in the NFL combined.

It’s certainly a wild stat, and the NFL world had plenty to say about it.

It’s safe to say it’s been a career season for Williams.
