Jared Goff Syndication: Detroit Free Press

When the Detroit Lions acquired Jared Goff from the Los Angeles Rams in return for Matthew Stafford, few around the NFL expected Goff to be a long-term option for the Lions. However, after two seasons with the team, the Lions have not shown any plans to replace him. And according to head coach Dan Campbell, they’re confident moving forward with Goff as their quarterback of the future.

During an interview on Monday at the NFL’s annual league meeting, Dan Campbell was asked whether he was comfortable moving forward with Jared Goff as the team’s quarterback. And he had a pretty clear response, saying “Goff’s our guy.”

“Listen, feel really good about it. Goff? Love Goff. Goff’s our guy, man,” Campbell said according to the NFL’s official website. “I think he’s proven over the last two years that, man, he’s made for us. He’s had to endure a lot, just like all of us have. I thought he played his best football last year, and I think he’s gonna come out and play some of the best this year. Feel good about it. So I love our quarterback position right now.”

While the team might look to bolster the quarterback position at some point in the future, it’s clear that Goff will remain the team’s starter for the time being.
