It’s fair for a player to be emotional after the Super Bowl – win or lose. And following Sunday night’s Super Bowl showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles, star Eagles offensive lineman Jason Kelce certainly was emotional, but his emotions had nothing to do with the result of the game.
During this week’s episode of his New Heights podcast with brother Travis Kelce, Jason Kelce revealed that he wasn’t crying tears of sadness for losing the Super Bowl, he was crying tears of joy for how special this week has been for his family, with both he and his brother appearing in the Super Bowl.
"You're crying after the game, and they're not tears of sadness, they're tears of joy"@JasonKelce and @tkelce shared why #SBLVII was more than just a game

Jason Kelce was specifically emotional when seeing his mother.
“The moment I saw mom is when I got really emotional because man, it was so awesome,” Jason Kelce said, pausing as he also got emotional retelling the story. “It was awesome that she was on top of the world for a week.”
“She was the heavyweight champ, man,” Travis Kelce said. “She was on top of it and she shined the whole time, man. That was the coolest part. Mom, you killed it. Dad, you’ve been killing it.”
Jason Kelce revealed that even though he was crying, in that moment the tears were not tears of sadness for losing the Super Bowl, they were tears of joy at seeing his family.
“It was just so cool, man, to see her get to celebrate in that with us,” Jason said. “It was an awesome moment. Just so happy for her and so happy that she got her moment, dad got his. so, yeah, I was — ironically, you lose the Super Bowl and you’re crying after the game and they’re not tears of sadness, they’re tears of joy.”
It was certainly a big moment for the family.
